My background is in electronic engineering. I studied at Southampton before completing a PhD in nanoelectronics at Cambridge, where I worked on zinc oxide nanowire transistors and their potential applications in memory and sensing.

Research at that scale leaves little room for hand-waving. Devices behave differently in practice than they do on paper, and small changes in materials or fabrication can determine whether something works reliably. You learn to question results, understand the limits of a system, and distinguish what is theoretically possible from what can actually be built.

I carried that perspective into industry, then into blockchain research and venture investing. The technology changed, but the questions remained familiar: what makes a system work, where are its real constraints, and what will it take for it to work at scale?

Today, I invest across digital assets and Web3, as well as frontier technologies including AI and robotics. I’m interested in the underlying technology, the economics that determine whether it can succeed, and the people capable of turning ambitious ideas into enduring businesses.

Across these fields, I look for the same things: sound technology, clear thinking and the potential to build something that lasts.

03The Thesis

I invest in
systems,
not narratives.

The most important opportunities emerge when new technologies change how the world coordinates, computes, and allocates capital. I look for structural shifts before they become consensus — and founders building what comes next.

  • 01

    Infrastructure

The foundational rails that make digital assets, open financial markets, and permissionless applications possible.

  • 02

    Networks

Protocols that become more valuable as participation grows, connecting users, liquidity, and computation into self-reinforcing systems.

  • 03

    Incentives

The economic mechanisms that turn aligned interests into durable networks — and distinguish sustainable value from speculative activity.

  • 04

    Computation

The convergence of cryptography, distributed systems, and verifiable computation reshaping what software can do without trusted intermediaries.

  • 05

    Capital

Backing exceptional founders at the earliest stages, when conviction matters most and the opportunity is still misunderstood.
